Harris Branch Beach

A little hidden gem. Very clean and family friendly. Roped off area to keep swimmers safe from boats. A few picnic tables but not very much shade. Lots of people brought their own umbrellas. Lots of parking. The park rangers and police often patrolled area to ensure safety. Suggest getting there early as they will close once the beach is at capacity. Really liked that it was only $5 per vehicle and they had free life jackets to borrow. Porta potties were clean (for a porta potty) and they even had a handicapped one. Make note that dogs are NOT allowed. Google led us astray and we had to take our pup back home. We were told there are other areas of Carter’s Lake that are dog friendly—just not the beach area.

This gorgeous area has a white sand beach and plenty of swimming. Great staff. Covered picnic tables and restrooms at the top and portapotties beach side. You cannot launch canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks from the beach. There is a separate place for that. Free life vests. All day pass is 5.00. One issue to be aware of is the biting flies that appeared late afternoon. Not sure what those things eat in the winter, but they made a meal of us!

THIS place is AAAHHHHMMAAZZIINNGGG! the staff r so sweet. It's clean. Not cluttered. Tons of room. It has the best deep end for adults who love to swim like me🩷🫶 o strongly suggest doing ur best to at least visit! Rocky mtn project where I live in Rome,GA DOESN'T HOLD A CANDLE!!! I will forever love this lil place🩷

Amazing lake view. Water is clean so swimming was wonderful. Nice beach area, but a little rocky. Lots of picnic tables at an upper level, most being under shade. Plenty of parking. $5 for a car to enter. Closes at 5pm.

Nice sand cute small family beach. Water is warm after middle June. The park volunteers and staff are wonderful!
