Harmels on the Taylor

We stayed Oct. 8-12th 2025 and it was the last weekend of the season. Being the last weekend it was very quiet and we had most of the place to ourselves. We did a half day guided fly fishing, and it was great! John, our guide, is very knowledgeable, easy going and fun to work with teaching my wife and I on our first time fly fishing. We caught several during the 4 hours and I liked it so much John let us borrow the equipment for another day as it was end of season and they didn't have any more bookings. The rooms are all right on the river and there are plenty of spots to fish. Rooms are perfect for a cabin getaway as they are basic enough to feel like you're camping but have all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. A++ CABINS, RESTUARANT, BAR & FUN!! I recently stayed at Hamels for the 3rd time in the last 2 years. You have got to experience this place! The new owners & staff understand “ATTENTION TO DETAIL!” The cabins are newly updated & spotless with many home & kitchen amenities. The restaurant & bar serve GREAT food and the outside deck along the river is the BEST outdoor eating experience I’ve had in 30 years visiting all over Colorado... WOW!! And they had LIVE music to boot! The staff are warm and welcoming and treat you with 5-star courtesy. The grounds are spotless and clean. This place is a GEM resort in the mtns and affordable... not to mention the breathtaking postcard views everywhere you look. The location is ideal for any outdoor adventure you could want... we did it all! They

My cousin and I had the most amazing trail ride with Sam! It was a two hour ride through the most beautiful scenery. We'll do the half day trip next time!

Perfect getaway spot! We spent three nights this past weekend and had a great time! Beautiful location, great staff, and clean/cute cabin! We did a half day fly fishing with John and had so much fun - this was a first for both of us - John was great, nice, so helpful and knowledgeable! Even with some rainy weather on the last weekend of their open season we enjoyed our stay! If anyone is looking for a special place to unplug and relax in the mountains this is it!

Harmels on the Taylor is an awesome spot for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors with comfort. The cabins are rustic yet well-kept, and the setting along the Taylor River is unbeatable for fishing, hiking, and just relaxing in nature. Staff are friendly and make you feel at home.
