Harbor View Motel

Had a great stay at the Harbor View. The hotel is directly across the street from the ferry. September is a slower time on Beaver Island and we were visiting during the week so only a few of the other rooms were rented. Mary who ran the office could not have been nicer. We rented condo # 8. Our friends were in rooms 10, 11 & 12. Hotel is basic but clean and convenient to the small town. The condo was equipped with everything you would need for cooking. Large refrigerator, stove & dishwasher. Grill right outside our door. The pool was closed for the season so I can't comment on that. We stayed two nights and toured the entire island. You need a car if you want to do any exploring (which we brought over on the ferry).

My friend told me not to leave a great review because this place would be over-booked and we'd never be able to get a room there again. But here is the great review. The Harbor View is left over from the 1950's. I loved the authentic decor and friendly vibe. There were lots of kids ( I think we met all of them). It is close to everything. We walked to dinner both nights. The town is small so that's not saying a lot. The price was good and it was just friendly. I completely enjoyed it.

My wife and I had high hopes of spending an entire weekend at the Irish Isle festival, but the weather had other plans. Upon arriving at the Boat Ferry on Friday morning, we learned it was cancelled for the entire day due to high winds and waves. We tried booking a last-minute flight, but were told they were at capacity (on top of possible cancellations/delays as well).||At this point, I called the Harbor View Hotel, explaining our situation and our predicament being stuck in Charlevoix for an extra night, knowing their cancellation policy and two-night minimum. Mary kindly informed us they would simply transfer our first night's pre-payment to our second night, and we wouldn't be responsible for the missed night. I was truly grateful to Mary and the Harbor View for meeting us halfway due

We stayed there on the 23rd of July. We rode the ferry over and took our bikes with us as well as duffle bag and back pack. The ferry arrived at 11:30 or so and we rode to the motel to see if they would let us check in early which they did. The room had just been cleaned but the lady at the desk never hesitated. We wanted to get rid of our bags so we could bike easier. Later on she lent a charger cord to us. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

Such a great place to stay. Beautiful views of the harbor. A short walk from the ferry, to restaurants and bars, gift shops, and ice cream, etc. It has the only pool on the island and it's very nice...heated, umbrellas, tables, chairs, etc. Great place for kids to play in and outside of the pool area.
