Hampton Inn & Suites Kutztown

Great staff, including Christina at the front desk. Rating as good vs. excellent because breakfast not up to par compared with our other Hampton stays. The only fruit available was apple (red delicious, the most boring variety).

Positive: Very clean nice location, and the breakfast was very good ? Negative: Tv didn?t work the whole time nothing was done about it I did like the hotel other wise

My fiance and I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Kutztown for a few days prior to and following our wedding. The staff was wonderful! I had an issue with my original booking (due to a third party) and the manager was able to address it and ensure I didn't get doubly charged. The cleaning staff saw that my wedding dress was hanging out and was incredibly cautious working around it and even left a note letting me know and offering me another time to do a more thorough cleaning (without the dress present). We got snowed in the day after our wedding and they were so incredibly considerate and flexible; they offered to reheat some of our trays of leftovers and take over the lobby with our remaining guests to have a Wedding Dinner Part 2. I've been a loyal guest at this hotel for years, but today I encountered a problem. I needed to cancel my reservation after missing the deadline because I had to take my pet to the emergency vet, where I spent three hours. Despite explaining the situation, I was informed I would be charged regardless. I politely requested if, as it's my first time, they could waive the fee. However, during both calls, the staff were unempathetic, grew more stern, repeated their points, cut me off, and claimed it was normal practice. Frustrated, I told them I was speaking and that I would never return. It’s very disappointing that they couldn’t show any compassion or understanding, especially on Christmas Eve. I would not recommend staying here. Do better, Hilton. Do better, the person I spoke with today.

Just a basic hotel nothing special or unique. A little noisy if you have a room in the even numbered rooms facing the road so I'd advise you book a room ending with an odd number on the back side of the hotel. In my opinion on the expensive side considering what you get. However you do get a "free breakfast" and HBO with your stay. If you can find another hotel in the area my advice would be to take it unless you're fine with just a plain and simple hotel. One last thing the bed was uncomfortable not soft at all very very firm mattress.
