My room is gorgeous and very modern with a black & gray theme....classy, if you will. The room is also very clean and smells good, unlike some other rooms at hotels that smell stale. The reception area and staff are also very welcoming & friendly. I don't eat breakfast, so I can't attest for the quality but given everything else, it's unlikely that I'd be disappointed. The only con that I would give is the location, and that's because not a lot of food choices are within a close walking distance. You do have a few but it's very limited. Overall, this is a very nice hotel and I'd definitely stay here again. (Note: HHonors Gold Status member)
We were in Columbus for the night to help our daughter move |The room was clean and comfortable. We couldn't get the digital key to work so we had to go to the front desk for a key |The coffee was good, the breakfast was decent . All of the employees we encountered were very nice
The hotel staff were very friendly! They were so accommodating to our family, even our dog! The breakfast was also really good and they kept it well stocked.
This is a pretty nice hotel conveniently located near Ohio state and the James. It’s a pretty typical Hampton although there were a few issues particularly with noise. The doors do slam although not so loud that I was woken up as some others have complained of. The heat was also very loud and I had to turn it down a bit to get it down to a reasonable level. Also my clock was not working when I got there. The breakfast was pretty good but I was disappointed that the only waffle toppings were butter and a raspberry sauce. The rooms look very modern and don’t show much wear. The shower was particularly great and had very hot water. Overall a good experience.
I’ve stayed here twice now, but I think I’ll be changing it up next time. The rooms are dated and show their age (fraying carpet tiles). The beds themselves have certainly seen better days. They’re creaky and springy. When I arrived for an early check in (at 12:00pm, the usual time of check out), the front desk attendant was no where to be seen. Three of us waited in the lobby for almost 20 minutes before we were helped. A member of the crew saw me and said he’d let them know we were there. (No one came). Another gentleman walked from the back to the side doorway, grabbed a drink from the staff fridge, and then walked back. We then waited another 5-10 minutes before the front desk staff came down from near the elevators. For the cost per night, I’m not convinced this location is the bes
