Hampton Inn & Suites Carlsbad

I have stayed here a few times, but I'll not stay here again. Traffic on the highway in front of hotel is grid locked. Taking a left hand turn during morning or evening rush hour is impossible. For 2 days, my keys (physical and digital) stopped working. Which meant I had to go to the front desk. The wait to get someone to help was long. Checking out at the counter in the morning was not possible because no one was at the desk. The rooms need a deep cleaning, they're not that clean. On a positive note, most everyone staying at the hotel is working in the oil fields. The other guests are quiet in the halls and quiet in their rooms. This is one the quietest Hampton Inns I"ve ever stayed at.

Bathroom vent was noisy. Called front desk and they said they would send a maintenance personnel to take a look. Personnel came and said it wasn’t the vent it was the AC unit above my room. I asked if they could switch out the vent cover to a solid slab or something to help block the noise. He said he could and left to get materials. 10 minutes later, he returned with new key cards, telling me I was switched rooms. I said I never asked to switch rooms, he was supposed to get materials to fix this. He said he didn’t have time to fix it today, so he took the initiative to switch my room instead. I said if you didn’t have time to fix it, at least kindly inform me that you didn’t have time to fix it, and discuss further options, but instead you just decided to switch rooms for me without my co

We arrived late, but the night front desk worker, Selena, was extremely helpful. She confirmed the hot tub was working and provided great advice for dressing warmly at Carlsbad Caverns National Park due to the cooler cavern temperatures (December '25). The hotel is in a safe, quiet area with well-lit, free parking. Our room was clean, the beds were comfy, there were lots of towels and fully stocked toiletries (shampoo, lotion, soap etc.). The free breakfast was decent. Located next to a Walmart and gas station on the main road to CCNP (25 miles away), the hotel is ideally situated (there are fast food options nearby). This is a great place to stay if you are working in the Carlsbad area. The staff are friendly, the rooms are nice and they have everything you need to work from your room. Enjoyed the fresh cookies and breakfast every morning. Conveniently located next door to a Walmart

We arrived around 7:30 PM for checkin and there was no one at the front desk so we used our digital key. I was not impressed with the hotel after staying at several Hampton Inn’s across a few states over the past week. The elevator made a clunking noise, the carpet was dated and had holes, and our bathroom in our room was filthy. The rooms are very dated; the dresser drawers did not close, and the furniture was in bad shape. I did report the dirtiness with pictures to the front desk the next morning and she said sorry and said she would put it in to housekeeping. There was nothing said about no one being at the desk when we arrived though. This hotel needs a very big renovation!
