Hampton Inn Stroudsburg/Poconos

The parking lot was full of ice. Only the driving lanes were clear not the actual spaces so walking was very hazardous. The pool was closed the entire time because of a broken heater. They told us the pool would be fixed before we left but of course that was a lie (holidays, part was on order, etc.). The ice machines were broken on every floor. The first floor bathroom was partially out of order and never fixed. Only 1 out of 2 elevators were working. Only 2 towels were provided in a room meant for 4 people so we had to make a special trip downstairs once we were already settled. Breakfast was ok but old lady attendant was rude and radiated negative energy to the whole area. Not enough seats were available for people to eat. Housekeeping was supposed to come every other day but never cam

Positive: The hotel is located near easy access to the main roads for traveling away from the hotel Negative: The towels at the pool were way too small, my room was not cleaned once in my four day stay but they state they clean every other day, told the staff about my room and some of the staff was not phased, coffee not always available as stated

We have stayed in this hotel before, over the past few years without any issues. This last visit was very different. From the beginning, the lobby smelled bad, like cheap skunk weed. Once in our room, there were hairs on the bed. The real fun started around 1:00 AM when the people in the next room began fighting. It went on until 3:00 AM, then started again at 4:30. We asked the people at the front desk if the hotel doubled as a homeless shelter. They told us that they were not allowed to say. This told us all we needed to know. I had reservations for four future nights, as we come regularly for skiing, but canceled them after this experience.

Everything was 5 stars. Excellent rooms. Easy access to rooms .typical great free breakfast and friendly service. Very nice clean pool area. The downside is half the laundry room had broken machines. Some of us Gold members do book rooms based on a self serve laundrmats. Upon looking at the past reviews the laundry room has been broken since July or August. It's October. Get repaired asap.

I don’t like to give negative reviews or one stars but this one is close. We stay in many many Hilton properties per year and this is definitely one of the worst. Right away my whole family noticed an awful smell. We all thought it smelled like weed. Looking at the other reviews now, I see we aren’t the only ones who thought so. When we got to our room, that smelled SO bad but the room smell was cat pee. The smell was so bad we had to walk outside multiple times just to get some fresh air.|We heard it’s not the best area after dark but before hand we did walk around the town some. Wawa and some other restaurants are a very short walk for food. The location of hotel is good if you are wanting to stay close to the Sherman theatre or something similar. Staff was nice and beds were comfortable
