Hampton Inn Riverside Downtown

The night before we were going to stay at the hotel I received an email stating “Due to construction, the hotel offers offsite self parking or onsite valet service at a cost.” When we arrived I didn’t see any construction when I went in to park in the parking structure attached to the hotel, when I checked in staff asked if I parked inside and I said yes. They gave me a tag to put inside my car and they left it at that, only to find a $29 and some change charge? When I called about it they said they had charged for parking inside the structure, so I’m assuming that was the “onsite valet service charge” even though I parked it myself (there was no one outside to attend those arriving) and the staff never mentioned the charge to me when I arrived or before I left even though I let them know

This hotel is a fairly typical Hampton Inn. Nothing special. However, a few aspects greatly degrade the experience. First, breakfast on the weekend is served to only 9:00. Most decent hotels offer their included breakfast to at least 10 or later on weekends. Also, the breakfast area is too small and cramped. And super crowded with everyone trying to get in before the service ends.|Next, the rooms have motion detectors that turn off the TV and lights if no motion is sensed in 30-40 minutes. So, if you're relaxing on the bed watching TV, be prepared for everything to randomly shut off.|The elevators are the slowest I've ever encountered in a supposedly modern hotel.|Right now, it's 9:30 AM, the day of our checkout. Positive: The front desk personal who welcomed us with a smile very attentive and just so helpful. I’ve been to High End Hotels and it’s always hit and miss but here it was on point. Negative: N/A

Such a beautiful hotel. Very clean, very modern and new. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are all new, very clean and spacious. The lobby, amenities (pool gym etc) all new and very nice. Walking distance to all of downtown, including Starbucks and food places. Extremely happy with Hampton Inn, and would definitely stay here again !!!

Great location. Plenty of things to do around downtown riverside. Rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast is good. Must try the waffles. Parking is easy to do. Great view from the 6th floor.
