Hammock Inn & Suites North Beach Hotel

Photos are misleading. The property is very run down. We stayed in the “classic double” which was very small. No frills just your basics.. beds, AC, bathroom. The beds aren’t very comfy (thin mattress on a basic frame) There was a mini fridge but it’s difficult to access it since it’s in the corner behind the bed so we didn’t use it. Parking lot is small and we were afraid to drive anywhere and risk losing our spot as every single spot was taken most of the time. The pool is small but decent with a gas grill, picnic tables and a few lounge chairs. The location is the best thing going for this place since you are close to the boardwalk and the BBQ restaurant across the street was delicious!

Save your money, the rooms look nothing like the pictures. The beds are cots, the bathtub was so dirty I had to shower with my shoes on. There is no parking - they offer a parking permit which you have to leave a $300 deposit. Only benefit is that is close to the boardwalk. The gentlemen covering the desk overnight was pleasant and kept the younger crowds in order. I would never return.

This property is terrible with a capital T. Mold in rooms set off my asthma and we left after one night. In addition: * broken and unusable patio furniture * dirty tub with sand and peeling paint * mold/mildew permeated everywhere (we had two separate rooms) * caulking around sink and floor tiles were clear DIY jobs * threadbare bedspreads * doorjam had clear marks of being broken into multiple times * no lock on door to street (one even had no doorknob) * hot water had NO temperature regulator. Could easily scald yourself. * holes in wall patched but not repainted * rooms are tiny (HOW did they get such nice pictures for their listings?) You are paying mid-tier hotel rates for hostel/tenement accommodations. Frontdesk attendant assured us that the remainder of our stay would be refunded

I came down the shore with several friends for a weekend. We wanted to find a cheap hotel near the boardwalk. We found this one and were concerned by the reviews, but went anyway. We were all very pleasantly surprised. The rooms, from what we could tell, were clean and organized, not like the pictures we’d seen. The service from the workers was outstanding, as the gentlemen we dealt with were nothing but kind and understanding. The decks outside were perfect to relax and hang out with friends. I have no complaints.

This place is horrible. Upon arrival we heard the fire alarms beeping so we went to the front desk and let them know that the batteries needed to be changed. they did nothing - saying “is it really going to bug you?” My husband had to take our off the ceiling and disconnect so we could sleep. Then in the morning there was no hot water. At check out I explained our night and the issues, but they did not care at all. Terrible customer service. (Also many things in the room need replacing- see photo for one example)
