Grand Lodge Crested Butte

I rented through Airbnb. I liked the room, the kitchenette, the showerhead. The hotel steam room was very nice. There is a ski locker, but they don't let you use if if you rent through 3rd party (Airbnb, VRBO etc). Location is great, short walk to lifts. Wifi practically non existent: disconnects constantly and very slow.

Positive: The check in staff were very busy but still kind and hospitable. The hot tub and pool were so nice!! Negative: The pizza place downstairs was a tough experience for us, took us over 45 minutes to get a broken pizza (yes, broken, as the staff explained to us!) and then another 15 to get a refund on salads they did not have? It was weird, should’ve gone into town

We booked the Grand Lodge this summer, admittedly without a ton of research. When I read the TripAdvisor reviews before our trip, I panicked a little, but we were already locked in. After spending 5 nights there in a King Corner Suite, here are my thoughts:||Location - 5/5, really excellent. It's steps away from the town shuttle stop on the mountain, which makes getting to town for dinner amazingly easy. The shuttle comes every 15 minutes. It's also right at the mountain base, so a quick 5 minute walk to ski school and even closer to the base restaurants and stores. Great location steps from shuttle and lifts reserved through Vrbo for a privately owned 1 bedroom suite for 4 people kitchenette had a single slow to go burner. Listed as ski in ski out very close to the main lift more walk to then put on skis. Lots of families and hot tub (jets not working) and steam room out of order. Mother Nature did not provide amazing snow during our visit so everything was super crowded.

If you’re looking for a cheap ski in ski out hotel this is your spot that’s about it . Hotel is extremely out dated beds and pillows extremely uncomfortable. The hot tub is a ses pool with 20+ people in it at once with extreme amounts of chlorine. DO NOT TRY TO USE UBER…. Even if you book ahead your uber will not show up and the hotel does not have shuttle service. Also expect a hidden fee for resort fee & taxes my card was ran for $100 hold then after check out they charged me $160.88 in resort fees and taxes ridiculous.
