Governor's Suites Hotel Oklahoma City Airport Area/Near downtown/Fairgrounds

Absolutely terrible experience. I do NOT recommend Governor Inn to anyone.||I was in town for a four weeks visiting friends and family, and the manager refused to let my uncle come up to my room just to visit for a short time. I was not trying to have anyone stay overnight. Despite that, the manager, Mr. Patel, demanded that he leave or pay to stay as if my uncle wanted to stay there. Completely unreasonable and ridiculous.||Because of this, I decided to check in the morning and stay somewhere else that actually treats paying guests with basic respect. To make matters worse, he kept $45 of my deposit, claiming it was for a “late checkout.” This is especially infuriating because I cleaned the room from top to bottom myself. The hotel is very unusual and unique for America! The room is large, everything is very clean and comfortable. I rested and slept well – that's all I need from a hotel. If you're choosing between hotels close to the airport and the main highway, this hotel is ideal, even if it is a little more expensive than others. I am grateful to the staff for their hard work.

High hopes, failed experiences. Large room, ok bed, appears clean BUT....no.....dirty sheets, barely towels, no one ever available, no towels in spa area. Let's talk spa area aka huge hot tub which was nice and steam room but OMG the only thing clean on that place was the over chlorinated hot tub that had hubby's sinuses burning in minutes. Breakfast...lmao...nothing there. Old and svarve and worthless. Top points: lg room, great hot water and pressure. The rest was a fail upon fail. Save your time, go somewhere else.

Positive: Clean, well kept, courteous staff, Negative: Staff wanted an $80 deposit upon arrival. (The room was for $---.) I finally arrived at the hotel about 3 AM, 3 hours late. When I asked for a late check out, I was refused. Hotel didn't have the flexibility to adjust to my needs.

There are just three things a hotel needs to get right in my opinion: comfortable bed, clean rooms and a decent breakfast. They succeed at all this PLUS they’re very nice people. It’s good people that make good places. I also LOVED the real plants in the middle of the hotel and the beauty of this older hotel. I didn’t try the spa but I looked in at it was clean and we enjoyed the pool too. Hot breakfast. Can’t find anything to complain about. Def will stay again. Very good price!!!
