Government Wash Campground

Every night people drive be down to the end to play loud music drink and party. The law enforcement for the park only work 9-5 but you will never see them out. People drive around the barricades and are already trashing the most vulnerable park. I feel for the volunteers, they spent so much time cleaning it up not to be destroyed because there’s no enforcement. We didnt feel safe at night and left early. Won’t be going back.

Pros: Campground was large, easy enough to find a spot to ourselves. It was free once we paid the $25 to get into the Lake Mead Recreation area. It was quiet. Cons: the bathrooms were LOCKED and not accessible on 3/27, not sure why but that was inconvenient. Also, lots of the spots were very rocky and hard to get a leveled area.

It says "campground" but is actually a super large dry camping area. Lots of available spots. You can be close to (please don't) or far away from the next rig. Nice view of the lake from almost anywhere close to it. Dumpsters on the way in. I saw toilets coming in, but there was a "closed" sign on it. Vault toilets at each overlook coming in tho. Dirt/gravel roads not bad at all. Being everything you need, the closest town is about 40 minutes drive back out of the park.

Such a beautiful place to stay and relax for a bit. There is a restroom (toilet only), and you're about 20-30 minutes from a gas station or store. There is a ton of parking here. I went in February and it was not busy. 10-20 vehicles at any time with plenty of room to spread out.

Awesome central place to stay close to Las Vegas and Hoover Dam. Good amenities close by (dump station/water). We saw plenty of wildlife and got lots of rest here. Its an RV village. VERY windy.
