Golden Sands Oceanfront Hotel

One of my favorite places to stay when I’m in Carolina Beach from the staff to the management to just the location and food and people always love the assistant manager and how nice she is. She always welcomed to us like family with a big hug. I recommend this place. She was always amazing to my puppy Olaf it was good to be back down this weekend !

Positive: "" Negative: Roaches. I took pictures but cannot upload them anywhere. The hotel had an overpowering smell. As if they had just bombed the place with roach killer and tried masking the smell with perfume. Waiting on my refund. Elliot said it would not be an issue.

I wanted to really like this hotel, but I was definitely surprised to learn our room was in an external building. I thought our room would’ve been on the main hotel side, but it ended up being on the motel side (a separate building). The rooms were decently clean. They look more spacious in the photos than they are in person, but they’re still workable. Access to the beach was great. The elevator was a little slow and very busy, but that’s somewhat typical for beach hotels. I don’t know that we’d stay here again when we’re in town; it’s not really the place for us but overall, our stay was pleasant.

We’ve stayed here multiple times in the past. I’m a bit disappointed in some of the renovations. The visual aesthetics of the property look better. I like that. The room is clean which is a big plus. However, room amenities are lacking. The bed is so hard and uncomfortable it’s unbelievable. The pillows are cheap and thin, not good quality at all. I have to say having a bed and pillows this bad can absolutely ruin your getaway. Those are very important parts of the stay. Maybe there will be further improvements on these issues in the future.

This hotel was a great choice for New Year’s Eve. It offers an excellent location and very good value for the price, especially for such a busy holiday. The hotel appears to be recently remodeled, giving it a refreshed and updated feel. While simple, it was comfortable and met our needs perfectly. The service was very good; the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. Overall, a solid option with a great location, fair pricing, and good service — we would definitely consider staying here again.
