We spent a week at Golden Eagle in August(staying in the 400 section). The staff were all wonderful and super helpful. I chose our campsite for the lake view advertised online only to find out upon arrival the lake is empty and it is now a weeded view. This should be advertised. They do have 1 pond you are able to fish in (beautiful view). Our campsite was a full hookup site but it was set up very weird. Our firepit was on the back side of our camper with the sewage dump and water connection. Not a great location to relax with a fire. Our firepit also sat too low to get any oxygen so our fire was a puff of smoke without our fan on it. The campsite was not super busy during our stay and Im sure if we asked we could have moved locations but honestly that seems like more of a hassle once all

I have never met a camp worker who was as nasty as the one I ran into while staying here. He continually screamed at me and followed me back to my campsite while I was walking my dogs, his reason being my smallest being unleashed. I would get it, if she wasn't literally in my arms being carried. Also, we were outside of the campground, so it wasn't even against rules. Never staying here again. I have never felt more unsafe and weirded out.

Stopped there for a quick overnight rest and had a primitive tent site. Overall a nice campground that was quiet. The restrooms and showers were clean and functional but really could benefit from a refresh.

Overall, the experience was good. It was a bit confusing at first to figure out which space was ours and which fire pit belonged to us, but by talking to others at nearby campsites, we figured it out. The staff is always making rounds, either to sell firewood or just to check in. They have two lakes—one for fishing (which you have to pay for), and another one, but when I went, it was dry. That really bothered me because you don’t find out until you arrive and they tell you. They should improve in that area by informing visitors ahead of time or posting it on the website for those who are expecting the full experience. The bathrooms are more than adequate—always clean and the hot water worked. The showers are a bit small, but you can still get a proper wash. There’s not much to do, honestl

The person checking us in, Nik, was warm, friendly, funny, and enthusiastic. We got site 137 and if you like shady areas with minimalist camping it’s *almost* perfect. Not the ideal for ground sleeping but still very comfortable and most importantly for us it felt homey. The site owners, the May family came around 5:30pm asking if we needed firewood or anything and mentioned they’d be back around 9:30 for last call which was very nice as we had just gotten settled in for the day. The showers and bathrooms were almost perfect, the only want would be a little wider stalls and curtains for the showers, but that’s easily outweighed by the fact that I had to adjust the temperature DOWN and I take some pretty hot showers. Seriously, hottest shower I’ve had, even better than a motel! The only r
