Glen Capri Burbank Universal

I stayed here for two nights with a friend while we went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. The location itself is convenient, and there’s a nice restaurant across the street called The Corner. Unfortunately, our experience at the hotel was very unsettling.||One of the valet attendants repeatedly harassed us during our stay. At one point, they even knocked on our door at midnight, which left us feeling unsafe. We immediately called the hotel staff to report it, and while they reassured us, the situation only got stranger. The following day, valets from The Corner restaurant sent lunch and a bottle of Tito’s vodka to our room, even though we had never spoken to them or asked for anything. This made us feel even more uncomfortable, as it felt like an invasion of our privacy.||W

Positive: Nothing, it was dirty, nasty, and they lied about it being a motel Negative: It was fraudulent, the rooms were dirty and looked nothing like the pictures. It stinks, the fire alarm goes off when taking a shower. Please do not come here

I stayed at Glen Capri many times over a decade ago, when it was an affordable motel with decent rooms. Since then, the property has expanded and remodeled, including taking over an adjacent building with red doors. Despite requesting a first-floor room for a disabled guest in advance, parking was difficult, there were no handicap parking spaces, and no visible ADA ramps. Even the first-floor rooms require stepping over steep curbs to enter. Parking now costs $6.99 per night. The front desk interaction felt disorganized and unprofessional, and I had to drop off the disabled guest due to lack of nearby parking. Room quality has declined: the beds were uncomfortable and noisy, the sink had an odor, the ceiling fan cover was hanging open, and the outlets between the beds are placed so close

LESS THAN ONE STAR IF I COULD!!!!! Honestly, I was genuinely surprised at how utterly underwhelming this WANNABE hotel turned out to be. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Several very older staff members made us feel judged all the time while we were in their presence rather than welcomed, which is the opposite of what basic hospitality should be about in any place. The rooms were far below expectations. The amenities felt outdated, poorly maintained, and lacking the basics you would expect from a property that presents itself as “upscale”. The TV wasn’t working, the faucets in the bathroom wouldn’t work, the AC unit looked like someone took their anger out on it. NASTY!!!!! Clean, very friendly staff. Helpful. Great location. This is a Motel and the price reflects that. For the price this is a great place to lay your head. Nice showers. The only complaint is there is no hot breakfast. An empty counter except toast and coffee. Those are the only hot items to be found. If you like Raisin Brand cereal then you might be happy. As a diabetic ,there was nothing but 2 toast for me. But as a Motel, yes, good find.
