Georgetown Hill Inn

I made reservations at this hotel and arrived, but my experience left me deeply unsatisfied. Upon my arrival, I encountered a locked front door that required a keycard for entry. Unfortunately, I was unable to obtain a keycard due to the locked front door. Despite my attempts to use the buzzer and make a call for assistance, it took nearly 45 minutes for someone to finally arrive.||To my surprise, the room I had reserved was not available, which left me questioning the purpose of making a reservation in the first place. When I raised this concern, I received no satisfactory response. Instead, I was offered an alternative room at an additional cost of $75 more than my originally planned budget.||Another issue I faced was with the hotel's parking situation. We reserved a room with two beds, but instead received a suite with one bed and one pullout couch. We were told linens would be brought up for the couch, but that never happened. The floors are filthy and the staff is invisible. There isn’t a front desk, or a phone in our room. No one answers the number on the business card. Parking is free in the sense that you are free to find your own parking behind the building. I will never stay here again.

This hotel has potential, but everything about is just barely "OK," and some things were definitely NOT OK.||||On the plus side: Location! It's walking distance to the nice shopping of Georgetown, Georgetown's Waterfront, and to Georgetown University. Space: The rooms are suites, so our son (teenager) could have his own space in the living room (with a closed door for privacy). Parking - there were actually spaces, behind the hotel, where we could park for free because they're next to a school and are not busy at night or on the weekends.||||On the down side: It's not clean. We've stayed in all kinds of hotels, both in the US and in Europe, and are OK with hotels that are not luxury. But this one is just not clean. We were looking forward to staying here whilst visiting Washington. Nice location but that's about it. We arrived to find no parking facilities and then tried to actually get into the hotel but was met with a locked door and a broken buzzer. After telephoning the hotel a random guy appeared and asked if we wanted to check in. I first asked where the free parking that was advertised on the booking was and was told it's free on street parking after 7pm. No good when you think you can park at the hotel all day. We ended up paying twenty dollars to park further up the street near the gym.||We then went to check in only to be told our room wasn't ready and it would be another hour. We had to shower with flip flops on and sleep in your clothes for fear of getting dirty. We arrived at 4pm and had to wait outside for the owner to let us Our rooms were not ready, dirty bed sheets, soda bottles lying everywhere (check in was 1pm, we arrived at 4pm). The rooms was filthy, shower disgusting, chewing gum stuck on one of the bedroom lampshades, curtain poles falling down. No parking facilities. I even had to buy a new toothbrush as my existing one fell on the bathroom floor. I would not recommend this hotel. The location is fairly ok. We paid far too much for a 2 night stay. Stay somewhere else.
