Gateway to the Petrified Forest RV Park

Stayed the night on our way back to Santa Fe after visiting the petrified forest. Camp hosts were very nice. We even wound up chatting with them at their site for about an hour after arriving. Bathrooms are nice and clean, and BBQ/community area would be great with a bigger group. Well worth it if you are looking for a quiet place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at this RV Park. After Unrulys dogs howled all day and all night, we know he was asked to leave by the police department. We stayed for about a week in 4-4 and the dogs were not well kept, pretty much skin and bones living in a separate trailer, and we are appalled by his comment. We are appalled by the care of his dogs. We also contacted animal control and they did not come. The park is well managed, and it is simple. Big spaces, easy in and out. We had stayed there before, but the bathrooms have been redone, and overall clean and quiet. We will stay here again.

Definitely feels like the middle of nowhere... But in the best way. Amazing view of the sunset, easy check in - just go to your space! People are suuuuuper nice and the bathrooms ... 10/10. Literal seating area if you need to wait, heated bathrooms - HEATED. Amazing. So clean, so nice. Love this place.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We had reservations for today and tomorrow. There is no signage off of Sun Valley Road, and the "park" is off a gravel dead end road. If you miss the road, like our travel partners did, GPS will reroute you to the next street. That street is a mud trap which our travel partners got stuck in. After digging out, they tried to turn around and the neighbor to this place came out and cussed them out. During this time, I called to confirm the address, because this did not seem right. When we finally got to the actual RV "park", there is apparently no office. After just talking to someone on the phone, we waited about 15 minutes while we took in the... Ambiance of the place. The host was very helpful as I was booking enroute. The campsite and grounds were clean. No issue with others pets. The campground is just enough distance for not alot of noise so it was a very quite and peaceful stay. The campground is also very conveniently located to experience Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert. The open wide view with billowy clouds added to the serenity. Definitely would stay again. Better price than anywhere around.
