Uranium Springs

My most favorite place in the world to camp. There’s magic in this land. 100% worth a visit if you can make the journey.

Ample bus parking. Fun place to visit, but if you can't make it out there, it's not the end of the world.

Great place to camp, has amazing views, the tour is worth it and you can find amazing fossils, petrified wood and other minerals. Going out there when the northern lights were visible was amazing. Also full moons are great. Pics were taken during northern lights not the best but gives a clue how the nights are

An awesome site to enjoy beautiful primitive camping right where the painted desert and the petrified forest collided. Enjoy a tour of the nearby post apocalyptic town of Uranium Springs by it's resident hermit. Sit at night around the fire and marvel at the star filled night sky and listen as the desert night comes alive with a myriad of sounds. Hiking the area gives spectacular views of local wildlife and the amazing colors and views of the rugged but beautiful desert. Being a repeat visitor, I can't not highly recommend this to other fellow travelers and adventurers. It is remote and rugged, so come well prepared, but you'll see it's well worth it.
