Customer Reviews
I recently stayed at the Gateway Inn after a long day of ice fishing, and it was exactly the kind of "mountain home base" I was looking for. Here’s the breakdown of my experience: The Highlights The Vibe: The lobby and bar area are fantastic. Having a few cold beers at the hotel bar right after being out on the ice all day was incredibly convenient. They even had live music, which added a great energy to the evening. The Staff: Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and welcoming. The Room: Our room was nicely remodeled—clean, modern, and comfortable. It definitely felt like a step up from your average mountain lodge. Dining: While we didn’t eat dinner on-site, it was nice to know there was a solid food option right there if we didn't feel like venturing back out into the cold. A F
The family split between rooms 227 and 221. We all thought the beds were comfortable but we should have brought our own pillows. The fireplace and balcony was a bonus for us all. We had had a good time in the hot tub and sauna. The hotel is rustic and right at the entrance to Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. We didn't utilize the restaurant or bar. To bad it isn't open for breakfast.
Love Grand Lake! The lodge was average. The rooms were HUGE, the view of Mt. Baldy from our balcony was amazing, and the beer was cold. Front desk was less than helpful on most occasions. When we asked questions they didn’t really have good answers or “I don’t know”. The food was average for dinner and breakfast but the cooks/waiter/waitress did seem accommodating for food allergies which was nice and they all were very attentive. It is about a 20 min walk to downtown but coming back you have to go uphill. Very close to RMNP entrance and tons of hiking trails. They did have a hot tub and sauna, but we did not use but did see other patrons using them. |We were there more for the national park than downtown so the lodge was perfect for our needs, it was clean and the view was nice. I would
Positive: The staff was very friendly. We had a nice view with a balcony and the restaurant/bar was great. Negative: ""
Staying here right now, what an amazing location. The staff is on point, the rooms are absolutely adorable, feel like I’m staying in a remote cabin nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The beds were very comfortable and lots of hot water in a spacious shower. We were even invited to join in at the town Christmas party downstairs. Tracy was super accommodating, as well as Alejandro and Jason were amazing as well. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quaint hotel with a family feel. They are located right at the West entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Also got to see my first moose after 5 minutes into the park.
