Garner Hotel Brockton - Boston by IHG

I stayed at this hotel for nearly a month with no issues, paid full price every night, worked daily, and followed hotel policies throughout my stay. I was never warned, written up, or spoken to about any concerns during this time. After being told I needed to leave briefly due to a 21-day policy and that I could return, I made a new reservation. Upon arrival, I was denied check-in and informed I had been placed on a “no rent” list based on an incident at a different hotel nearly a month earlier. That incident involved a brief attempt to help someone charge a phone, which escalated despite repeated efforts to have them leave, and was not a pattern of behavior during my otherwise issue-free multi-month stays. This decision was never communicated to me during my stay, despite booking rooms

It was a quick one-night stay for a sporting event nearby. The hotel is under renovation, which we did not know. The room was fine; you could tell it needed updating. The coffee during the day was not fresh. The morning breakfast had cold scrambled eggs and frozen bagels.

Positive: "" Negative: drain in the shower was broken. Tv in the room didn’t work properly.There were only rooms available on the first floor, rest of the building was under construction(loud) . While eating breakfast I notice bums coming in from outside to get breakfast there.

I called the Holiday Inn in Brockton in advance because I was arriving after midnight and needed to confirm whether any rooms were available. Instead of the courteous customer service you’d expect from a major hotel chain, I was met with a shockingly rude representative who bluntly told me there were no rooms available — and then hung up on me before I could even respond or ask another question. This is completely unacceptable behavior for any hospitality business, let alone one operating under the Holiday Inn name. I wasn’t asking for special treatment — just basic respect and clear communication. I will never book with this hotel again, and I strongly advise anyone expecting decent service to look elsewhere. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff went above & beyond to make sure I got all the discounts I would qualify for as a veteran, & gave me a room that was spacious enough for a family of 5! We slept comfortably & the rooms were clean.
