Ferry Landing Suites

We stayed in the Elwha Suite which was INCREDIBLY NOISY. The noise, which started around 6 am every day, came from multiple locations: nearby trash dumpsters; the coffee shop directly below the apartment; the stairs to the Yakima Suite which run past both bedrooms; the "jet-like" toilet in the Yakima Suite that is located directly above one of the bedrooms. This was not simply a matter of one of us being a light sleeper -- all 5 of us were awakened every morning. And we had no internet service during our stay. The location and view are great, but not worth having your sleep disrupted early every morning.

First the good: great location with beautiful harbor views.||Now the bad: Unbelievably NOISY. We were located directly above the coffee shop. The noise started a little after 6 am every day, and woke all 5 of us up every morning. Loud clanging (? emptying trash dumpsters); endless banging. There was also noise from the cars lined up a stone's throw from the apartment. The entrance to the room (aka "suite") above was by stairs that were located directly next to both bedrooms. And last but not least, there was a toilet directly above one of the bedrooms, which flushed much the way toilets on jets flush. It sounded as if the toilet was in our bedroom. ||And oh by the way, the internet doesn't work.

You can't get more in the middle of the bustle at Friday Harbor. The ferry pulled right up to eye level with our second floor suite. The large common room with integrated kitchen was a great in-town home base for our extended family spread around the island in different lodgings. There is no end of activity in the summer and the bustle is fun but noisy. The two bedrooms were small, but comfortable. The coffee shop downstairs is like having your own in-house barista staff. Loved that! Everything else the island's main town has to offer is right outside, shopping, cafes, kayak outfitters, seaplanes, boat tours, ferry. It makes for a very nice visit, but there are some drawbacks so be aware. The lodgings have many steps. Be prepared to trudge and don't book if you have trouble climb

We couldn't be more pleased with our 2 night stay in the Elwha suite. The 2 bedroom suite has a full kitchen and a big open concept dining and living room tastefully decorated. The private patio looks out over the harbor. We loved the patio so much that we ordered our meals in every night and ate outside. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was furnished with soaps, shampoo and hair dryer. Everything is within easy walking distance. There's a wonderful cafe below with delicious pastries that opens at 4:30 am. Couldn't be more pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of this fantastic condo. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Our party recently spent three nights in the Elwha Suite of the Ferry Landing Suites. The two suites are located on the second and third floors of a large, white house looking directly over the ferry landing at Friday Harbor. The first floor houses a small coffee and baked goods shop. Each suite has a private balcony. The Elwha Suite has two bedrooms and one bath. The beds were very, very firm. Everything was clean. The kitchen was okay. Coffee was provided and that was the only cooking we did. The very best part of the Elwha Suite was the huge window and comfort seating where we could look out on all the action going on on Front Street day and night.
