Bird Rock Hotel

We loved our stay at the Bird Rock Hotel! The location is perfect - right in the heart of Friday Harbor and within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and the marina. The hotel has the quaint island charm and is nicely updated, so it feels cozy and comfortable at the same time. Our room (#7) was great with a huge bathtub for warming up after a chilly evening. The entire property has a welcoming vibe and the customer service made us feel right at home. I'd also recommend bringing a sound machine if you're not a morning person - some of the nearby businesses start operations early. Nonetheless, it was the perfect base for exploring San Juan Island and we'd definitely stay here again!

The texting option was fast, efficient, and we were always treated with kindness and care. It was the perfect base for exploring the San Juan Islands, and I would absolutely stay here again. Very close to almost everything, super cute rooms and clean bathrooms. Had a great stay on Valentines and they left us sweets and a rose. Would totally recommend to people looking for a fun weekend getaway.

We just checked out of this hotel today. We had the Cypress room with a full bathroom on the 3rd floor. We got to the hotel 2 hours before our check in so our plan was to leave our bags in the property and walk around. We were surprised to find no one at the front desk BUT all I had to do was write to the management and their reply was immediate. We could check into our room at that time. We appreciated their prompt reply and the early check in. Like I said, we were on the third floor and only had a carry on bag which was no problem. I mention this for people who have bigger bags to be ready to walk up 3 floors. The room access was easy as they send you your room code beforehand. The room was perfect. My husband and I love this place. We have been back multiple times. Trendy, NW, spa vibes. Very romantic. It's great to be in walking distance of literally everything but also have a beautiful room and cozy lobby to hang out to have a cocktail and play games. We've come with a group of friends as well because the island is great for day trips like hiking and biking, and the hotel is great for chilling as a group and easy walk to dinner spots.
