Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Worcester Auburn

Came up to attend a football game in the area. Due to CT 15 traffic - I arrived much later than hoped... The hotel is fairly easy to get to and there are a few moderate price places to eat nearby. The lobby appears clean and check in was smooth. I reserved a king studio and was issued rm 321. This unit needs ATTENTION. The wallpaper is peeling off of all the walls, the hvac unit isn't working, there is a slight sour milk smell, and it's really cold (the outdoor temp is 42 degrees). I called the front desk but there wasn't anything comparable - just a double and no one on duty to address the heating issue. Should have read the reviews. No pool. No hot tub. But that's our fault. The breakfast staff was great. Decent breakfast selection. Nothing extraordinary, but it was well stocked. Coffee available all day. Add a code drinker that was good. Fitness center had 4 cardio machines and some free weights. Laundry was $3.50 per wash and $3.50 per dry. $2 for laundry soap if you need it. It snowed while we were there. They have a contacted company that works to keep the lots cleared. That was good. Wifi was plentiful and stable. I was able to do my work and son was able to do school work without slow down. TV was decent. As for the rest. Room was decent. Soft bed. Positive: Complimentary breakfast Negative: Room was dirty cobwebs everywhere Black mold on bathroom wall. Tub drain very slow. Housekeeping didn’t replenish or clean during 2 day stay. Staff was not friendly.

Unacceptable Service As a frequent traveler and Marriott Bonvoy member who stays in hotels almost every night, I have never experienced a lack of professionalism quite like this. My two-night experience was a series of failures, ending with me being stranded in the middle of the night. Night One: Poor Room Quality & Accessibility Failures I booked a cash + points stay. Despite the math totaling under $90 (including the $20 incidental fee), I was overcharged an additional $20 at check-in with no clear explanation. • Hygiene: Upon entering, the room had an overwhelming smell of musty, dirty carpet. Reservation was scheduled for 5 days unfortunately my mother passed during my stay and extended us another 18 days. This hotel made us feel like family they took care of everything we could have needed and accommodated our every need. Debbie was a god send to me and my family don’t know how we could have made it without her checking on us everyday. When you are at the front desk you are the first person the customer engages with and how you conduct yourself speaks volumes of your business and this lady Debbie knows how to take care of her customers. This hotel should be proud to have an asset like Debbie and honestly the rest of the staff as well they went above and beyond to make my families stay in a very difficult time the best it could be.
