Customer Reviews
Positive: The breakfast provided was pretty good. The food was hot, and varied. They could have used a better selection of pastries, though. Negative: The room did not have a microwave or a refrigerator. That is unacceptable. The shower head was not designed well, but worked fine. The toilet was noisy when flushed.
Considering how old this hotel must be, they do a great job maintaining it. I would definitely stay here again. At the price, 4 stars for rooms but not all the way to 5, only because the heating/AC units could use an upgrade, but I understand how expensive that would be and I was ok with it for 1 might. All the staff are wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. Very convenient location to stay for a concert at the Arena. We also went to the attached Irish Pub and enjoyed the warmth and convenience, the staff was lovely. Valet parking tip we didn't know: when you arrive,if there's an open valet spot open in the parking area too the right, pull in and park there, rather than on the street. Gather your things, and go inside to get things sorted.
I stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Washington DC / Downtown in late October, from October 21 to October 22. The stay itself was uneventful, which is exactly how a one night hotel stay should be. Unfortunately, everything that happened after checkout turned into a long and frustrating ordeal.||Weeks after I checked out, I suddenly received a hotel bill showing charges for two nights, along with dates and timestamps that made no sense and did not match my actual stay. I was not at the hotel on those dates. When I contacted the property, I was told their system had been down at the time of my stay and that the delayed charge caused the billing issue. Even if that were true, it still does not explain why I was charged for a night I did not stay.||What was most disappointing was not just
The hotel location was convenient to some good DC spots, but it didn’t too safe, especially at night. The hotel itself was fine, but the customer service was wonderful. The front desk clerk was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The valet service was also great. Shimelis, my attendant, was incredibly pleasant, helpful and efficient and took good care of my vehicle.
Location was perfect for a concert at the Capital One arena, with many bars and restaurants nearby as well as easy access to the metro. Darrell and Candice at the front desk couldn't have been nicer. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast area was busy but had a reasonable selection. Only small complaint is that the "always on fan" feature wasn't working in our room so the unit would cut on and off throughout the night. Would definitely stay here next time we're in the area.
