Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Virginia Beach/Norfolk Airport

I have never written a review like this before, but this experience warrants it. After checking out on Saturday, we realized later that evening that we had accidentally left behind a teddy bear in our room. This wasn’t just any item — it was a teddy bear with deep sentimental value. We immediately called the hotel and were told to call back Sunday because it wasn’t yet in Lost & Found. On Sunday, we were told it still wasn’t there but that housekeeping would check and call us back. They never did. On Monday, we called again and told them there was no place else the bear could be except their hotel. We were told the room and Lost & Found had been checked and nothing was found. There was no urgency, no follow-up, and no indication that anyone was taking this seriously. So I drove FOUR HOU

This hotel was clean, and the front desk staff welcoming. Be advised that there are no suites at this hotel with 2 beds. The 2-Queen rooms are smaller than the standard 2 queen rooms at other hotels, and they do not include an unholstered chair or corner desk with desk chair. Instead, there's a nightstand sized bureau, a long table under the walled TV, a desk chair, and a backless cushioned stool chair. Maximum occupancy is 4. I had offered an overnight stay to my niece and sister who wanted an extra day in the area for the beach and was surprised to find upon check-in that there was no sofa bed in my 2 Queen room. We reviewed the Hotel's online photos which were very misleading, since none of the 2 bd rooms are suites or include a sofa bed. Be advised that the suites have 1 King bd and a

I hate leaving bad reviews, honestly. I chose this hotel specifically for the advertised perks of a "heated indoor pool" with great photos and "shuttle service" to the nearby airport. Neither of those were offered on this trip, per the front desk staff who were apologetic but unable to help. The rooms are clean, breakfast is okay, and staff is pleasant, but advertising services that management chooses to not honor is something future travellers should be aware of. For swimming, we were offered the use of the pool at the adjacent hotel. That required a walk across a parking lot in winter advisory weather. We did take advantage, and considered changing to that hotel for convenience, until we arrived to the strong smell of weed in the halls, a tiny pool with bandaids and hair on the deck,

Really easy check in process. The young lady had a great smile and awesome attitude. Clean hotel , hot coffee , great fitness center and comfy beds. I will return in future. Thanks for providing top notch service!
