Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites San Diego Carlsbad

Positive: It was like home away from home. Complete kitchen. Comfy couch with TV. Table n chairs for eating. Desk to work at. Separate room for bed. Door to bathroom closed and locked. Negative: Long walks to the elevator but for the quiet, it was worth it. Would’ve liked trestle that blocked light from hallway. Also AC going in hallway even late at night. Two of the three washing machines were not functional

The Fairfield Inn in Carlsbad, California was a perfect stop over for my family. We arrive late and Debbie at the front desk was welcoming, friendly, and very accommodating. I was grateful to have someone helpful meeting us so late at night. Plus, she was working on New Year’s Eve and was still very very cheerful. Thank you, Debbie.||The hotel is comfortable, well appointed, and convenient. I had a quiet night sleep on a comfortable bed, and enjoyed a wide variety of breakfast options in the morning. I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Carlsbad.

This has been our “go to” hotel when we are in Carlsbad. The staff is great, the rooms are nice and comfy and the free breakfast has tons of options. We got a room with a sofa which was so worth it. We had two TVs both with streaming service options. It’s close to the Carlsbad Outlet Mall as well as Legoland. It’s great for couples or a family. The area is nice and safe with plenty of parking. There is also a pool and a gym. The place is landscaped beautifully and it’s got quick and easy access to the 5 freeway.

Stayed for work on 02/17. This is an OK hotel, but had a few issues especially for the price. The WiFi is finicky and only an absurd 6MB speed in my room, making it difficult to work. The Gym is TINY. Only one treadmill, and it was constantly in use so I couldn’t work out as planned. The parking pass and additional fee is unnecessary as there is plenty of space around. A/C was louder than normal and not very accurate to the set temperature. Breakfast was great however, and the rooms very clean. It was also very quiet and nice to not be next to a freeway for once hearing traffic all night. 3/5, but would not stay again.

Despite showing up at 11p, the front desk clerk Debbie greeted my family and I like royalty. She was able to quickly get us into neighboring rooms and offered us all of the support we’d need. She was an absolute delight to work with esp after a long travel day, she is beacon of joy after a long day. Give her a raise! And extra PTO..!
