Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Raleigh-Durham Airport/Brier Creek

We stayed for 5 days. After the first day our light above our bathroom sink went out. We requested it be repaired THREE TIMES! It was NOT repaired despite being reassured each time that it would be taken care of. As a frequent visitor to both Marriott Properties and the Raleigh-Durham area, this is LESS than what should be expected. The room furniture showed signs of heavy use and should be upgraded/replaced. On a positive note, the personnel were attentive and professional. The breakfast area was kept very clean and the food was pretty good.

Positive: The hotel staff was very professional. Hotel employee was a friendly and helpful professional. The morning staff at the breakfast was outstanding. My wife and i really enjoy the stay. . Negative: There should be a lot more designated Handicap parking space's made available for customer's. With a parking area of 100-125 parking space's. There should at least be a minimum of 20-25 Handicap space's.

The hotel and facilities are nice. It was the surprises that I didn't like. I did not know they would not clean my room for a two-night stay. I did not know I had to go to the hotel next door for my breakfast. I forgot to bring my phone charger, and the front desk was of no help to me. The location is great. The room comfortable and quiet.

I was extremely disappointed to learn that this property enforces a policy prohibiting guests under the age of 21 from staying at the hotel even when the guest is an active-duty service member. Prior to sending this message, I contacted the front desk directly and escalated the issue to the on-duty manager. I was informed that the property enforces a strict “21 and over” policy with no exceptions even for active-duty military personnel. This policy directly affected my son, who is an active-duty United States Marine. The irony is hard to ignore someone old enough to serve our country, deploy overseas, carry responsibility far beyond that of most civilians, and put their life on the line for our freedom is deemed “too young” to stay at this hotel. We just stayed for five nights at this location for a very important family event, and were pleasantly surprised at how excellent the service was. We had fresh towels every day, and a full breakfast. But what stood out to us was the staff member, Kelli, who works at the front desk in the evenings. Kelli greeted us warmly when we first arrived and every evening afterward. She even asked to see pictures from the day and felt like a family member more than just a staff member. She made sure our needs were met, supplying an extra blanket when the nights were cold.
