Customer Reviews
Built in 1841, this property provides comfortable, basic amenities. Stay includes parking (1st come/6 slots) and breakfast, which make it's rates affordable for NOLA near French Quarter. Special thanks to Darrell, who got us checked in and provided info on area/trolley. Restaurants within walking distance. We'll stay here again.
I love this place and will definitely stay again the next time I visit New Orleans. It caught my eye because it was a cute, older property, but the staff really made it special. I had last minute changes to my trip and they were so accommodating. I had never been to the city and they took the time to tell me all about the public transportation and must-go places. And on the weekends they made *delicious* breakfast on top of the breakfast bar that's available daily. They were so friendly and kind and really made me feel welcome.
I stayed here and rest of my group stayed at the Hilton (I already knew!). I had better food, nicest host, cooler neighborhood, great value and more authentic New Orleans. Plenty of food options nearby, Easy to get to any other part of city but it is quiet and feels like a greenspace rich neighborhood. Characteristic big trees and Victorian homes with wrought iron and columns, porches and fountains. 11-minute drive to French Quarter but you could stumble the extra blocks home from Jackson Square (1.5 mi) in 45 mins or less if you go out and celebrate. 15 minutes to City Park, less to Audubon, 20 to Lower 9th/Waterfront/across river, 30 all the way up to Pontchartrain. If you take the Interstate it puts you out like 3 or 4 blocks from the hotel. Can catch St. Charles Streetcar nearby. It's
Upon arrival we were met with kindness and courtesy. One thing I did notice in the office was the mold growing out of the vents and the smell was that of old house. Expected it to have old house smell as it’s very old and eclectic. Was shown around the grounds and to our room (#13). Room appeared to be very clean, no visable mold, all furniture very antique but bed was comfortable, ac worked well, shower and fridge worked fine. Parking is limited to 3 small vehicles, no suv or trucks but we were able to find street parking very close. Bfast is only served for very short time so we didn’t get to eat. Felt safe outside. My biggest concern was the smell of the place and seeing mold. We only slept here, didn’t spend any extra time in the room as we were in town on business and explored city
I would never recommend that anyone stay at this bed and breakfast. Run - don’t walk - away!! The hotel is in complete disrepair, the grounds are a mess (don’t believe the photos online), the walls are covered with marks and dirt… Had three nights reserved and only stayed the first night because we could not find any other vacancy for that evening. Do NOT stay here - the state of this place is shameful.
