Extended Stay America Suites- Raleigh - North Raleigh - Wake Towne Drive

We stayed for 3 nights recently and were actually very pleased. It may not have the most inviting front lobby but the employee behind the desk was polite and got us checked in right away. The room was very clean and spacious and the hotel was very quiet. The room we had gotten was at a very decent rate and was actually quite spacious and clean. The hotel is located withing walking distance to some good eats and shopping locations as well. We would definitely stay again!

I booked through AAA who somehow listed a higher rating for this place. The absolute WORST thing was the odor when walking through the front door. I wasnt sure if it was dirty carpets, pet odor, or trash can smell but it was STRONG and OFFENSIVE. They also collected a $100 deposit AFTER I had paid for the room in full. The hallways outside the rooms are not adequately air conditioned-which made the odor (even upstairs halls) stink worse. My room had an aweful stench as well and carpeting had a smell of ? pet odors or...other. I almost went out to buy a room freshener, but was only staying 1 night. The only positive was that the front desk receptionist was quite pleasant!

Positive: The front desk folks were great!! Negative: The rooms were not cleanIt is a very old hotel - really needs a complete do-overThey advertise grab/go breakfast with muffins - but, they did not have any muffins.The clothes rack was hanging off the wall. The furniture is atrocious!

Upon arrival, the room was not properly cleaned. There were food stains in the kitchen, mold on the shower curtain, a dirty washcloth left in the shower, and the pull-out sofa bed was not usable. Because refunds are not offered after check-in, I had to thoroughly clean and sanitize the room myself. While doing so, I discovered the dishwasher did not work. When I reported this to the front desk, I was told it has been out of service for some time. That said, the front desk staff were polite and did attempt to accommodate me as best they could once I reported the issues. The concern is more with the overall condition and upkeep of the rooms, especially for a hotel marketed as an extended stay with kitchen amenities. I will offer an update review after my complete stay

Worst Extended stay I ever stayed in the place is a homeless shelter it smells like Marijuana the stairwell is dirty the sleeper sofa mattress was nasty and dirty the dressers were nasty the bathroom sink was nasty the sink water kept dripping, the place is so dirty the sofa bed was extremely bad it had rips and all the stove was dirty and I will not talk about the microwave, dogs all o er the place customer service in the AM sitting at the desk with a hood on, the only thing that seems bright is the young lady in the evening. The picture of this place on booking will trick you I will be reaching out to corporate, I would not let my animals or worst enemy live or stay there.
