Extended Stay America Suites- Norfolk - Virginia Beach

Don’t be fooled by the price. Spend the extra ~$30 per night and stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites next door. This place was a nightmare from check-in to check-out—literally within 15 minutes. Building doors didn’t work. Room keys didn’t work. The room itself was disgustingly dirty: drapes that looked like they’d never been cleaned, black mold in the bathroom, crumbs and dirt on the sofa, inadequate heat, and a faint but unmistakable smell of urine. To make matters worse, I almost got locked inside the room. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I checked out immediately and would not recommend this property to anyone.

The staff was nice but the rooms are filthy. The bathroom door did not close. There were a ton of roaches in the kitchen cabinet on a sticky trap. We couldn’t get towels, pots or pans. A man overdosed outside our room and my kids saw it. The hallways are full of trash and smell like week 24/7. There is dog poop everywhere outside. the room keys did not work more than once. The sheets on the pull out sofa had lingerie tags in them. the bathroom floor had mold around the tub and roaches in the cabinet. stove buttons were broken. the place is filthy

Positive: Location I guess Negative: Everything. From start to finish. Room320 had “critters” in every corner of the room. There were old blood stains or something that resembled that on the curtains and couch.All around disappointed. Get what you pay for.

From the cleanliness, hospitality, friendliness of the staff, everything was a 1 star and I’d probably give less if I could. ||I wouldn’t even consider this place a hotel. More of a lower class motel. You have to go to the front desk for everything you need and half of the time they don’t have it. The dishes they gave me were dirty so we had to rewash everything,||The room is so gross. I’m not even sure what housekeeping does because it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. The floors were so sticky and gross- our feet were black! I have 2 young kids and wasn’t comfortable letting them play in the room. Worst experience with a hotel i’ve ever had. The entire building smells like mold. Cockroaches in the room. The carpets in the hallways are stained and there was trash littered on the floor. The walls were yellow stained from smoke. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Completely unsanitary and unacceptable conditions.
