Extended Stay America Suites- Detroit - Canton

Positive: Location Negative: This is my 4th week staying over here. I have asked for the room service multiple times. Still waiting..

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone at this location in Canton Michigan for the great stay I had there! Everything and everyone at this hotel was awesome couldn't of had a better team. Being a retired Flight Attendant trust me I have been in hundreds of hotels over the years and this one has an outstanding team! They deserve a Christmas bonus for sure. Thank you again. Preparing for a family wedding, the shower and bath of our room were damaged and not working. Could not bathe or clean up. This was not apparent when checking in. We could not get management of the hotel to help, as their response was that no other rooms were available and that no repairpersons were available on the weekend. My family was forced to find alternative hotel to stay. We are aware that on site persons are not responsible for what they can do in any situation. However, they made no effort to help. Travel booking agent made less than minimal effort to help. Their customer service was non-extant, we are at least, demanding compensation for a room we could not and did not use.

EXTREME ADA VIOLATION. This hotel failed to honor a guaranteed reservation for an accessible room with a roll-in shower. When confronted, the manager was dismissive and offered no alternative. Under the ADA, reserved accessible rooms must be removed from general inventory and guaranteed. Overbooking these rooms is a federal violation. I am filing a formal complaint with the Department of Justice regarding this discrimination. Do not trust this location if you have accessibility needs.

This is an overdue review. A few months ago, I stayed here and had a good experience. The room had a high-quality hard floor and was in decent condition. My favorite part about the stay was the friendly staff and the sense of community from the other residents.
