Extended Stay America Select Suites- Detroit - Warren

Very disappointing! We had to stay here for 2 months while waiting for our house to be ready - so this wasn’t for business or vacation.The stove top burners did not work. I had to purchase a table top burner in order to cook meals for me & my husband. We were supposed to have maid service once every two weeks - never had a maid stop by. I had to go to the front desk to ask for clean sheets & towels. People were constantly smoking (cigarettes & pot) in the stairwells & despite the fact that there were signs directing placement of garbage to the dumpster out back, a number of people would leave bags of garbage near the trash can at the bottom of the stairs. The representatives working the front desk (Carol & Sam) were very nice & accommodating.

Theoretically we had a handicap accessible room. It very much was NOT . No handrails in the tub shower in stead of a roll in shower that we were told. No handrails anywhere in the room. Not sure how they call this room wheelchair accessible.

Bed Bugs 301!!! At first glance room wasn’t terrible for the price, even checked the bed (clearly not well enough) but thought it was ok for the night. Checked in at 12am.. by 5am I woke up and I seen a bug crawling on the bed when turning on the lights i was disgusted seeing multiple crawling around. Packed our things and got out as fast as we could. Do not recommend.

Positive: "" Negative: so when I go to an expended stay, I expect them to at least have basic essentials in the kitchen. They had nothing I had to go buy forks paper plates, and on top of that this motel seems to have 80% permanent residence screaming kids at all hours of nite

Kathy was very nice and helpful to me when I checked in. She's a wonderful person. The beds are comfortable; My room was clean. I stayed here about three nights and it wasn't bad at all.
