Eurostars St Gregory

Exceptional Stay for a Special Occasion! We stayed at Eurostars St. Gregory in DC for my husband’s birthday, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and professional from start to finish. They were very understanding of how meticulous my husband is about his show car, which we drove there, and made sure everything was handled with care. Their politeness, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond truly made us feel valued.The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was top-tier, and they helped make his birthday extra special. Great location, close to Dupont and Foggy Bottom Metro stations. We took a $25 Lyft from Ronald Reagan Airport. Nice lobby and helpful guy on the desk to check us in. Room was on the 9th floor with a view of the apartment block to the rear. Unfortunately, we awoke to see a large amount of ants in residence in my shoes and so immediately brought this to the attention of reception and requested a room change. To be fair, they did upgrade us to a suite without any prompting. Still, not a great start.|We didn't get breakfast on the premises so can't comment on food but there are plenty of place to sit and eat in the immediate vicinity.|Walking to the White House takes around 30 minutes at a slowish pace and you're only 5/10mins from a Metro station. Positive: Great location. Beautiful restaurant and bar in the lobby. Negative: A/C controller in the room was not working so it was too warm. The engineer the front desk sent was rude, insisting it was cold enough (for him) when I aksed him to fix it. Finally when it was fixed, the A/C made a lot of noise all night.

This was a mixed experience at best that could be summarized as a motel attempting to pull off a professional decor of an established hotel. When we first arrived, the staff seemed nice enough, and the interior of the lobby seemed modern, as well as, well-decorated. Getting up to our room on the 9th floor, the elevators were noticeably showing their age, but nothing too terrible. Checking out the room, we found various pieces of trash from the last occupant. The worst of which could be best described as a pineapple slurry in the refrigerator. The fireplace also wasn't working, as well as, the TV in the bathroom. Looking at the snack amenities, there wasn't anything there, but the prices were clearly listed, so I was worried about being charged later. Speaking of money, I checked my bill

The Eurostar acquisition of the St Gregory has delivered a blow to what was once a polished operation. The toiletries—those exemplars of refinement that left skin positively radiant—have been unceremoniously ditched for cut-rate impostors, leaving one’s complexion parched and prickly from dawn till dusk. Service generally borders on the perfunctory, and breakfast, once a generous offer, has been pared back too. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if the next cutback to involve charging extra for usage of the lift.
