Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile

My daughter and myself came to Chicago for a sport competition. This was the same weekend as CubsFest and the Bears game, so it was quite full. The Embassy Suites Magnificent Mile had an easy check in process with Jay, and when the room we were initially assigned was not ready, it was quickly switched to another room. It's nice to have two rooms if traveling with kids to make a bigger space. The room was clean and well appointed. We appreciated the two tvs and the easy to connect to internet. The breakfast buffet was well run and efficient. We did not do the omelet station, but it was very popular. Currently an elevator bank is being worked on in the hotel, but waits were never very bad--don't let that discourage you. I liked that the front desk will text you and respond to any ques

Our second experience wasn't a great as the first last year, with the only difference in booking was not going for the premium room. Service from the concierge and food staff was excellent. We had some struggles with house keeping, never receiving the extra bed linens requested (2 requestes made) for the pull out sofa. The room lacked the extra clean and maintenance we had in the premium room. We plan to stay again at this location next year when in town for the same event and we'll see if the 3rd time is really a charm or not.

Positive: I love the suites, this is why I consistently choose Embassy Suites when I travel with my family. Negative: No hot tub. no makeup wipes, the heat did not work, the little square pillows and the excessively long lines at the bar. I also did not like the "Destination Fee'

I had an extremely unsettling and disappointing stay at this Embassy Suites. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt unsafe and completely out of control. There was unrestricted access to the elevators and guest room floors, with no keycard enforcement at all. As a result, several groups booked rooms and then hosted large parties for people who were not hotel guests. Many of these attendees were clearly underage and were openly drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, and blasting loud music late into the night. Hallways were chaotic and intimidating. It reached the point where the police had to be called, and multiple people were arrested. That alone should tell you how badly this property is being managed. The location was perfect for us as it was right near all the places we wanted to go. We really enjoyed the atrium feel and the bar area. Our room was a lot bigger than I had expected. Having the extra suite room allowed us the ability to go to sleep and not bother the other person or get up in the morning and go out in the other room and watch TV. The value was higher than other area hotels for the reasons above. ||Also, we experienced great service from a lady from HGV by the name of Erin. Not only did she answer all our questions but she anticipated many others that we had not considered. Her recommendations on places to go and where to eat were perfect for us. Finally, her personality was fantastic…we felt we were interacting with a lifelong friend, although we had just met her.
