Elbow Lake Lodge

My family and I rented a 2 bedroom cabin here with another family and it was gorgeous. The rooms weren't big, but there was plenty of space in the cabin for 4 adults and 2 kids. There was running water and electricity. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook as well. It was cold at the time, but the beach right in front of our cabin would have been perfect for swimming. We rented a boat and went around the lake fishing. There was lots of wild life too. Baby snapping turtles hatched while we were there. We had a black bear visit our cabin too, but it left when it couldn't get into our garbage bin. We went back in Sep 2020, and it had just changed owners, so there was only one of couple camping there at the time.

We highly recommend Elbow Lake Lodge for many reasons:||*When the tiny onsite store with minimal amenities was out of mayo, they had a worker who was coming in later that day bring some for us from town.||*At the time of our stay, kayaks were included in the price of our suite rental. They kindly allowed the kids in other cabins to use them to their hearts’ content, despite their true two-hour limit. When there was fear we wouldn’t get to use the kayaks, they held the paddles for us when the kids came in from their next round out.||*We expected generic food from their abbreviated menu posted at the small bar. However, we ordered onion rings and spinach artichoke dip and were pleasantly surprised when both were delicious. (We ordered a pizza to our room later on that night and that also

Eager to write about this delightful resort tucked away 30 minutes off the hwy! My husband and I just spent 2 nights in the peaceful and comfortable Bears Den studio in the lodge. Since the nearest restaurant is 20 minutes away, we cooked our own meals and appreciated staying in at the lovely resort to read, swim, kayak, fish, and paddle board. There’s a game room and even mini golf in the woods! This resort is remote, the only one, in fact, on very scenic Elbow Lake in the pristine state forest of Kabetogama.

Absolutely beautiful views of the lake from our room! We loved the main lodge fireplace! We gathered by the fire while the kids played with all the games and toys! We even made some smores!

We chose this resort for a multi family vacation and we had a wonderful time!!!! What impressed me the most was how friendly and hard working the staff was. At a time when many places are struggling to find workers, the staff here really went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed a relaxed, stress free vacation. Loved the free, easy access to kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boat on a BEAUTIFUL lake. Great gathering spots in the lodge with fireplaces, and game tables. Something for people of all ages to enjoy! Would definitely vacation here again.
