Timbuktu Marina

Best vacation! Stayed in WhyKnot cabin. It was very nice. Timbuktu Marina was nice, they had essentials to buy if you need them. They sell gas for a couple bucks higher than in Cook. Really pretty area. Rented a pontoon boat from the marina, nice boat no problems. Mosquitoes were absolutely horrible! This was July of 2022. The mosquitoes were so bad you couldn't even step outside without getting eaten alive! I have never seen SO many huge mosquitoes!!! And huge biting horse flies! I will in no way miss the bugs!

Everything here is always amazing very friendly staff and the kids there always want to help. It’s amazing that the owners of the marina also live on the lake makes it even more of an experience. Very friendly people and such a beautiful place to visit. Great for fishing and having a full open bait area and liquor store available the clothing area they have available is always amazing and constantly have new things available. They always have amazing renting availability and very great that they help to accommodate for anything.

This place is so inviting, especially with their employees! Mason is always happy to help when you need it. Micaden is so friendly and always has a smile on his face!! They are the reason I want to come back to this fantastic place! Also, the beer!

T1 is my go to stop for fuel, snacks, ice, beer and has all the fishing tackle basics to get you what you need for a day on the V. Dock crew is tip top! Keep up the outstanding work Timbuktu!

Overall, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, location was perfect, to these I give a 5 star rating, but unfortunately the cabin we stayed in was your normal cabin but they really need to do some major cleaning, it looked like all they do is change sheets and put out new towels, the sheets had stains on them, the floors were not clean, the indoor/outdoor carpet in the living room was so stained I didn’t want to walk on it. There were spiders and spider webs, one big web right over the kitchen sink area, kinda hard to miss that if you’re cleaning. I’m not a neat freak but I do expect a place to be clean that I spend over $225 a night for, unfortunately I will not stay there again.
