Ludlow's Island Resort

We have been coming to Ludlow’s with our extended family (from Boston) since we discovered it in 2016. We LOVE and look forward to it every year. The setting is beautiful—Lake Vermilion is amazing—but as others have commented, the staff is really what makes the place great. Mike, Paul, Kelly, Lori, and the various “dock boys” over the years have come to feel like family. They are genuine, take care of everything, and make every week spent here delightful. The cabins are unique, clean and cozy—not fancy, but they have everything you need. Our kids entertain themselves on the island from dawn to dusk without devices. We rent a boat and ski, tube and make ice cream runs and take sunset cruises. Ludlow’s has some sort of activity each day for the kids—the fishing contest, sand castle b

Ludlows Island is a beautiful place. My family and I have been visiting for over 7 years! Their cabins are wonderful, they have boat rentals, friendly staff, and great access to the nearby town of cook and locations on the water! We also often take fishing tours! Definitely an essential part of my life yall!

Stayed at Ludlow's Island Resort for a weekend and we could not have had a nicer stay. The quiet serenity of the island, the aesthetic north woods feel to the cabins, and all the amenities are just a glimpse of the beauty of this place. The best part of all was every single employee we were blessed enough to interact with. Everyone was extremely helpful, understanding, and simply wanted us to have the best stay possible. Shout out to Dustyn and Mick for helping us rip through firewood all night till our hearts desire.

My wife’s family has spent 30+ years coming to Lake Vermilion and typically we stay across the lake, but they were full and it had been +30yrs since anyone had stayed at Ludwig’s so we booked a south shore cabin - and it was wonderful. Even though the lake was insanely high and the mosquitos were out for blood - the staff was super helpful, especially in getting power to our dock when everything was submerged. I can’t safe enough about how well kept the cabin we stayed in was. The best part might have been the staff launch and pulling our boat in and out of the lake with no effort on our part. The kids had a great time on the beach on the island and with the water activities they had. And we were excited to see we can charge our non-Tesla electric car if we ever think it can make the trip

This was our first trip to Ludlow’s and it was beyond what we imagined. The staff was unlike any other staff we have had in other places. They go above and beyond to ensure all guests have just what they need. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you need for a stress free vacay in the most beautiful setting. Our girls loved the cane fishing poles to catch fish right off the dock and the daily kids activities. We are for sure looking forward to our next vacation at Ludlow’s.
