Econo Lodge Research Triangle Park

Dirty motel by the highway. On arrival, the location felt very unsafe with a number of people loitering in the parking lot staring at me as I checked in. Almost instantly after opening the door, my room smelled like someone had been smoking in it. The walls are very thin such that you can easily hear everything/everyone outside your room. Then, the bathroom had multiple bugs crawling on the floor. This is probably related to the small open crevice between the floor and the doors. I would highly NOT recommend this hotel.

We have stayed in this motel in the past and it is now in a serious need of a facelift. It appears that many rooms are what could be called "extended stay" rooms. There are vehicles on the property that have no tags and one of the cars appears to be full of trash. The coffee offered in the morning for breakfast was undrinkable. The staff at the desk was very nice, no problems there.

The staff here is great. They’ve been super helpful. Many of the reviews here talk about the clientele but ya know, it is what it is when you’re selling convenient lodging. I would absolutely recommend this place if you need an affordable place to lay your head. I felt safe and the room was great.

Nasty room with outdated and torn up furniture, roaches roaches and more roaches. Saw at least 10-15 no exaggeration within the first 2 hours. Ended up leaving and sleeping in my car for rest of the night..

Positive: The room was clean. Bathroom looked like it had been remodeled lately. Negative: Minor things: one of the bed sheets had a cigarette burn-hole. The shower curtain did not fit properly.Also, the "continental breakfast" was substandard. Only 2 kinds dry cereal, waffle machine, and coffee/orange juice.
