Econo Lodge North Academy

Everyone here is overreacting too much!! Yes, this place is a little dated, yes some things could use a little sprucing up, but everyone here is so dramatic! When you pull up, right off the bat you could tell that this used to be a Sleep Inn. EconoLodge and Sleep Inn are both owned by Choice Hotels. Same chain brand just different hotel brand. Looking at the reviews, I thought “oh, what the heck am I getting myself into here” but I was very surprised to see that my experience was fantastic!! The room while dated is clean. Old carpet, but clean. Furniture is a little worn but not awful. Bed linens are quite nice and are clean. Towels are also nice and clean. The breakfast was good thankfully, again not something I expected. The front desk agent was friendly. I read some reviews on surprise

The room needs updating. Repairs to the damaged ceiling were poorly done. Light bulbs were missing from lamps on night stand. Cleaning rags were left under the Heating/AC unit. Holes in bead spread. If we hadn't been exhausted from our daughter having a medical emergency we would have either left or demanded a better room.

Cheap room, reasonably clean. Breakfast options were lacking. No soap in the bathroom, we washed up with shampoo (in the shower, kinda too late to go to the desk to ask.) Smoke detector missing from the ceiling. Found it in the nightstand drawer. Some body really ought to fix that. Easy to find and quick check in.

Not the most fancy. It served the purpose. The room was clean faux wood floors and small. The lamp on the end table was useless….no plug for it. The shampoo and conditioner was a nice touch. Received what I expected for the price. Would probably stay there again.

rm 214 knob missing for door security loop. Lamp by bed not work, staff quickly replaced bulb, plugged in at sink instead of seems originally behind bed. TV not get channels until staff installed missing cable. Plaster plugs ground hole in electrical outlet near door (seems easiest to use for laptop on table if cord crossed door path). Nice loose leaf binder with information, yet need update Air Force Academy now needs security approval at least 24 hours before get on base (why I here). No sink stopper/guard, risk ring fall down drain. Heat fan on/off uneven noise (prefer mild background constant sound). Minimal breakfast (better Sunday). No friend, no colleague. Doubt know anyone visiting area.
