Econo Lodge Cave City

The owner of this motel is awesome. All the employees were awesome. Pam the housekeeper is amazing. I would give them all 5 stars. Rooms were clean everybody was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone needing a place to stay. Reasonable price.

Positive: It was close to the places we wanted to see. Easy access Negative: The bed was quite lumpy as well as the pillows. We found bugs crawling on the floor.

I recently chose to stay there rather than drive an hour home on a road heavily covered by deer. I made my reservation using Choice Hotels online. When I arrived the clerk asked for $150 in cash as a deposit to cover incidents. I never carry cash so I told him that and I told I'm that it never mentioned this online when I made the reservation. I told him I just needed sleep, they would literally only have to change the bed as I planned to leave at daybreak the following day. I told him I would call Choice Hotels and see if this is even acceptable. He canceled the request for the deposit and allowed me to stay the night. The next morning the clerk was a lady. Left motel 2 hours after arrival. Requested cancellation and refund from management. Have not heard back from him. The room had water leaking up from the floor. The tile grout in the bathroom was black with mold. The toilet would not flush fully. The lady who helped me at check out was very understanding. She offered a room change, but after the first room, I did not feel safe there.

This motel has been recently renovated. Slight smell, probably because old building. Good essential oil took care of that. The toilet didn't flush but we were guickly moved to another room. Comfortable. The best part was very reasonable, flexible and nice management. And good economic price.
