Eastland Suites Hotel & Conference Center

I have stayed here a few times now. Their guest service is outstanding. Always someone friendly and helpful behind the desk. The beds are firm yet comfy. Good water pressure and temperature. Today for breakfast there were many yogurts, cereal, muffins and toast, juice. The coffee is great! What a bonus. It’s away from the congestion of campus. Free parking included. Well worth the price.

Positive: The lobby looks to be newly renovated so it seems like the rooms would be nice; but they are outdated and questionably clean. The manager when we checked in "upgraded" us to a king suite and there was a microwave and fridge in the room which was nice. Negative: Room was dirty with hair on the bathroom floor and in the tub. Cigarette butts outside the room and the room smelled like cigarette smoke (we don't smoke). There was trash in the landscaping and on the grounds.

We stayed one night at Eastland Suites in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. One positive right away was that we were able to check in early, which we really appreciated since we arrived in town earlier than expected. The room itself was nice and clean, though there were a few leftover items in the mini fridge from a previous guest. I disposed of them without issue. One disappointment was the pool. The hotel advertised that the pool would be open until 10:00 pm (both on signage and when we checked in), but when we went to use it at 9:00 pm it was already closed with no way to access it. This was especially frustrating because we had gone out to Walmart to buy swim clothes specifically to use the pool. Breakfast was another letdown. My husband and I stayed in the honeymoon suite. The perk of the suite was supposed to be the 2 person whirlpool tub. Unfortunately only half the jets worked and the water wasn't even luke warm. Tried to use the pool and water nor area surrounding the pool was not heated. Very disappointing especially at the price we paid. Complementary breakfast was a joke. Stale cereal and bread. No fruits ect. All doors say no smoking but every hall smelled of smoke and incense. Do not recommend. Also no one on site but a sign that said be back in 15 so I didn't see anyone to check out.

The appliances didn't work and the breakfast was absolutely horrible. My husband and I took a bite of the food and simultaneously spit it out. They would have been better off having pre-made PB&J sandwiches or no breakfast at all. |We had a second floor room but had to be directed to the hidden stairwell by another customer to find it. The pictures are deceptive. They had no elevators so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. |I have to admit the beds were comfortable and the room was reasonably clean. I used the pool and appreciated that being relatively clean. But, they didn't have towels at the pool. I had to use the one I was allotted from the room. |I will not return to this hotel again. They claim it is a suite but it isn't when the microwave and refrigerator do not work.
