Dupont Circle Embassy Inn by FOUND

I recently stayed at the Embassy Inn DuPont Circle by Found and had a pleasant experience. The location is fantastic — just a 15-minute walk to the White House, and within an hour’s scenic stroll you can reach landmarks like the U.S. Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. It’s a great base for exploring D.C. on foot.||Within a 15-minute walk, you can reach either Dupont Circle Metro station (Red Line) or U Street/Cardozo (Green Line), making it convenient to get around the city. Beware before booking here. I had a confirmed reservation, flew in, and arrived at the hotel only to discover that I had no way to enter the building. I was never provided with an access code or the check-in link that is apparently required to get inside. I had already paid in full months ago, yet I was left standing outside with no assistance. The phone number posted at the hotel entrance was disconnected. I tried calling, texting, and emailing them multiple times and never received a response. After a long flight, I was exhausted, stranded, and standing outside in the 40 degree weather cold with no staff on site to help. I want to highlight the service of manager Chris and one of the porters, Esam (I think?). They were both very accommodating and worked hard to make sure our stay was pleasant. When we checked in (after the snow storm) we were put in a room with a full size bed, when we had booked a queen bed. They said that housekeeping was unable to come in at all that day from the storm and it was the only room they had. The next morning Chris immediately moved me to a proper room that was much better, and he was very nice about it! With such a low budget hotel, quirks are expected, and this hotel had a lot of quirks, but the location was amazing, the price was right, and the disappointments weren't worth arguing about.

SHOWER RAN ALL NIGHT. THERE IS NO ON SITE STAFF AT THIS HOTEL AND THE ROOMS ARE FALLING APART. If an emergency happens, you will have to deal with it yourself because they aren't sending anyone to help you! When I tried to turn on the shower after checking into the hotel, the knob broke completely and boiling water started gushing out with no way to turn it off. My room filled up completely with steam and the windows were too stuck to open so it got so hot and heavy you couldn't see. I called and texted the numbers listed online and in the lobby downstairs and nobody answered. Eventually I got a call back from the employee of another hotel in Chicago (???) who told me nobody on staff was answering in DC and there was nothing he could do and nobody he could send, and since all the other r

Positive: Clean and convenient. Negative: Parking. Street Parking was extremely limited and there were no recommendations for Parking garages. We found a good one about 3/4 mile away, but had to scramble on our own.
