DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Virginia Beach

Close to the waterfront for ease of access, but not on the waterfront for all the traffic and beach craziness when you're here primarily for work. Though there were some initial issues with the rooms after checking in, what really makes the place stand out is the staff. Venus at the front desk and Zowii with maintenance were super sweet, attentive and by far the best customer service experience I've seen in a while. They made sure to take care of me and value me as a customer and person (which can be hard to come by in this day and age), resolved the issues and made the what could have been a chaotic mess of a day end on a relaxing high note. Truly superior staff can mean all the difference in your travel!

We stayed 4 nights, in town for a comedy show at the new Dome. Our biggest complaint was the hot water which I’ve seen on another review but thought maybe that was just a one time issue. Unfortunately it was not . We had to run the shower for 45 mins before it got warm, not even hot, for the 1st two days. We notified the front desk and the employee stated that it’s a “normal issue. It’s how the water runs through the hotel. You have to run the bathroom faucet and shower at the same time.” Unacceptable! People drive hours and expect a hot shower. And the excuse given is not becoming of a Hilton property. There was also a big event on Saturday night in the ballroom, when we came back that evening we could not find parking had to park over in the convention center parking lot which we were

Positive: Restaurant and live music were phenomenal snacks and drink. Options were fantastic. Negative: I did not like the putrid smell on the fourth floor the amount of time I was there and the money that I spent for two rooms I should’ve been discounted or offered a different floor to stay on

I arrived and stayed here for business. Check in was easy and quick. What I thought could be better, are the beds. They are not that comfortable, very low to the ground and the mattress felt flat and thin. But I slept okay. I want to give a huge thank you to the Front Desk Agent “IVY” she was amazing and helped me order food for room service when I was not able to reach the kitchen! She was really awesome! One other thing that could be better are the shower curtains, they did not close properly due to the curved shower pole. So the curtain did not close on either side. Also paying for parking was not ideal when a lot of other hotels are free to park, so I’m not sure why they charge. I probably will stay here again. My stay was satisfactory all because of Ms. Ivy!! Hopefully I see her agai

Rooms and facility was clean and fresh. The elevators take forever as there are only 3 for a very large building. The beds are super soft without a lot of back support, and the water pressure for the shower was crazy low.
