DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport

Overall I give this hotel a solid four and will be back here again it’s clean and has a good layout. I especially enjoy the food in the restaurant HOWEVER and this is a big however there is always only one person working the whole mini restaurant and bar and it often takes up to 20 min for her to even get your first drink and food order and you better hope you have your food order ready the first time cause she won’t be back for a while. It’s not her fault it’s just understaffed. She’s doing all the bartending, serving, food running, and closing out. It’s really annoying when you’re hungry and just want to be able to pop down from your room and order a bite to take back up or grab a drink.

This hotel was nice in the lobby area but when I stayed in room 151 the HVAC unit sounded so similar to a garbage disposal, the Air vents were disgusting, the ceiling was stained, the floor lamp was a safety hazard where electrical wires were exposed, one bed lamp was not working, the small refrigerator didn’t work and the room was so dim. Not sure why housekeeping missed all these things. ||I would have requested to change rooms but it was past 11PM and I unpacked. When I checked out I spoke to the manager of the hotel and all he said was “thanks for bringing it up, I will have a service tech look into it”. No, I am sorry or anything. Management needs to tighten up because this was the worst Doubletree I have ever stayed at. I have pictures as well.

Positive: The staff is excellent and accommodating. Negative: The first room we were in, room 151 had an unbearably loud AC. They switched us with no trouble at all and made the move easy as possible.

This place is a solid 4 out 5 stars and it deserves every positive review it receives. For the price, you would expect free breakfast and free parking, especially considering they charge three different taxes (local, State and city). However, I'm not going to let that overshadow the most important part of this review (the staff). In particular, Nadja who works at the front desk demonstrated exceptional hospitality and service during my recent stay. Her attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly made my experience memorable. It was a sold-out weekend due to a hockey tournament next door at the Carolina Ice Palace, and despite having to remind kids repeatedly not run in the lobby, dealing with guests frustrated about the full parking lot, answering nonstop phone calls

Arrived just before midnight for a single-night work trip and stopped by the front desk to grab a plastic key, which was effortless. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and of course the warm DoubleTree cookie lived up to the hype — a genuine perk and an instant win. Took the elevator to the fourth floor. The room was a bit of a walk from the elevator, but nothing unreasonable. Due to a booking mistake, I ended up in an accessible room, which made for a slightly different experience. Entering the room, there’s a foyer light immediately inside the door. To the left is a very spacious accessible bathroom.
