DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chattanooga Downtown

Ok so if I had followed the new reviews I wouldn't have came. I got the Jett tub king room which was clean and not that out dated 4/5. Tub and shower was big. So I cant speak for the other rooms but if you got the $ and want a nice room go with the Jet tub rooms. Service was good as well.

Positive: "" Negative: For a "4 star hotel", this did not meet my expectations! The furniture was torn in the lobby, the staff seemed like they did not want to be there, the rooms were small. We chose the "4 star" option as a splurge trip with our kids and I was underwhelmmed!

Excellent place to stay in Chattanooga. Close to restaurants and you can easily walk to the river or to attractions. Rooms were excellent, roomy, well cared for, modern. The front desk staff and other staff we met were excellent, helpful, courteous. The coffee shop downstairs was a lost cause, they charged me 9 bucks for two cups of terrible coffee, no big deal, there are coffee shops nearby. I would stay here again with no hesitation.

Room was clean, but we had an end room and the layout is terrible with the bathroom door and cabinet right across from it. Air conditioner was dirty, loud and didn't work very well. Breakfast had good food but no service, couldn't get a water to drink. It's basically a restaurant setting of a normal hotel breakfast with waffle maker etc. They are remodeling which is good but elevators are being shared so can take 20 mins to go up or down, and a big portion of parking lot is taken up by containers. Offering the water bottles in the room for free instead of 4 dollars would be a small gesture to cover the inconvenience. I wouldn't recommend until renovations are complete.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dining room staff were very good. Special recognition to Gunnar at the front desk. My son and I were looking for parking and due to construction and it being a Saturday night downtown, parking was not available. Gunnar moved his own car and gave us his parking spot to make sure we were not inconvenienced. Wow!!! Certainly service above and beyond.
