DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston - Milford

The hotel itself is very nice & clean. However, the rooms are a bit run down and old feeling. I found the bed to be quite uncomfortable. There was construction going on, so perhaps a refurb is happening. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent! Our one issue was with the pool. There are 2 different companies that do swim lessons in the pool most weekday afternoons from around 4 - 7:30pm. Even though the kids could still swim, they only had a small area of the pool they could use during lessons and it was obvious that the swim instructors would rather our kids not be there. This should have been disclosed on the web site or at check-in. We chose this hotel because it's one of few in Milford with a pool, so it was disappointing not to be able to use it a lot of t

The rooms were compact but comfortable, warmed and cooled quickly. Spacious shower, which we appreciated. My husband and I booked a one-night stay mainly to use the pool- we live nearby and were craving a cozy Valentine’s swim. When we arrived at the pool in our bathing suits, we were told it was under maintenance. We were definitely disappointed and caught off guard. However, Randy at the front desk completely turned the experience around. She was kind, understanding, and genuinely supportive. She worked with us to make it right, gifted us a swim voucher for the following day, and slid over few extra cookies. Her customer service really changed the tone of our stay. While the initial situation was frustrating, Randy’s care and professionalism left us feeling valued and taken care of.

Good amenities but hotel is quite old and torn. Elevator is far from the lobby - lots of walk to the room after checking in. Location is convenient.

Stayed here for 2 nights and while it was mostly very nice, we had issues with the hot water all 3 days (Fri, Sat, Sun). When getting ready for a wedding on Saturday we had to wait ~20min for the engineer to arrive and help us out. We stayed on the 4th floor and there is another review from a few weeks ago of folks experiencing the same issue. This will be a wonderful place to stay if they could guarantee hot water to their guests. For now, it might be better to stay at the holiday inn up the road!

Overall, the rooms were clean, updated and comfortable. The only issue (which was a major issue for us) was that both days we stayed at the hotel (Thursday-Friday) there was nearly no hot water in our showers. My family stayed in 3 different rooms on the same floor (4) and all of them did not have hot water. It was almost as if there were too many guests in the hotel and it ran out because too many people used it.
