DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Baton Rouge

Quiet, clean and nice dining/bar area downstairs. Not in a very urban area but they charged $6 for parking! Is this a new thing hotels in rural/suburban areas are doing to siphon even more money out of customers?! It is sneaky, as this was NOT disclosed when we booked. Clearly a new, unnecessary bit of nickel and diming consumers.

Seeing some of the recent review made us a little nervous, but we kept our reservation and were so glad we did. The room was spotless, service was friendly, and the lobby felt so welcoming. We really enjoyed spending time in the pool and the hotel gym. Lots of great food options close by and traffic isn’t terrible if you know how to avoid waiting at the light at Constitution and College Dr.

Rooms were a good size. Don’t expect your room to be cleaned every day. Stayed 8 nights and sheets were never changed, bed was remade with same sheets everyday. Requested clean sheets and changed them myself. Furniture was stained, brought this to the attention of staff but nothing was done. Would rate this hotel 3 star. Location was close to restaurants.

Booked a 2 king 2 room suite. Checked in yesterday to “ensure we get our room selection” and even got a room number. After 13 hours of driving, we arrived and they told us they overbooked the hotel, but they had a smaller 2 queen 1 room suite available… great part is that the available room is cheaper, but they would not give us money back to make the difference. This should be absolutely illegal if it isn’t already. We took our business elsewhere, we encourage you all do too.

Positive: Very comfortable beds and quietness during the night Negative: Did not expect to be charged for parking and for not having free breakfast
