Dolphin Oceanfront Motel

Very clean, cute room! We literally stepped right out of the sliding door of our room to the sand and beach! Janette’s Pier is about 200 yards up. Pet friendly! There’s a hosing off area right outside. The owners are super nice with lots of information about the area. We will definitely be back to visit this quaint hidden gem!

Positive: The proximity to the beach. Negative: There was alot of sand on the carpeted porch outside of our room so we were always tracing it inside the room.

This motel is spectacular and at a great price! It has an amazing retro feel! The cleanliness of our room was outstanding! The owner is extremely involved daily and treats everyone with superb hospitality. He is wonderful with kids. We had some car trouble coming in and he was more than helpful. The beach access is top quality with sand right out the back door and no dune to climb or navigate, People refer to the parking being tight, we have a large old school conversion van and experienced no problems with parking. The location is perfectly placed for Nags Head and Hatters Island. Don't miss out on this gem!

I've stayed here multiple times and I have no complaints. It's clean and affordable. Dolphin Oceanfront Motel is within walking distance to Jeanette's Pier, Sam & Omie's (an iconic restaurant for those new to OBX), and has ocean access just a few steps from your room. They have a few rooms that let out right onto the beach. These rooms let out between two dunes, which allows for an awesome view from the room or the sitting area out side. They are pet friendly, which was a blessing when our dog sitter cancelled at the last minute. The only complaint I can possibly think of is the door lock kept getting stuck on us -- which was not a big deal to us.

The rooms are upgraded, clean and decorated so cute. Very quaint little place and right on the beach! Friendly and feels like home. Pet friendly. We will definitely come back here for sure.
