Dodge City KOA

Spent the night in a RV. 1st thing don't use GPS, due to poor GPS should be better signage in town. Clean park, ATV racing is done right behind the tent sites ended around 9 PM, not sure why so close. Large dog park shared with the town. Nice cement pads. Bathrooms clean but, not secured, people from the soccer field right next to the building were using it. Felt weird showering at night that anyone could walk in.

The bad- the cabin could have been a bit cleaner. It was grungy in the corners with patched spots on the walls etc. It took us some time to find the switch for the hot water heater because the sign must have fallen off. |The good- the staff was friendly and helpful, the showers and bathrooms were nice. The cabin had some dishes and helpful things in the kitchen. Guest laundry was convenient. The grounds were tidy and well kept, the campground is well laid out. Would recommend for an rv.

All in all it was a very nice place. We only stayed here for one night. Lots of police sirens and a very nasty tenant were the only draw backs. The tenant in site 87 came over to me as we were packing up noticed that I had a dog in tow. She took it upon herself to not so politely tell me where the dog park was and that she didn’t want to find dog poop out here. 😳🙄 I was literally out side our camper for maybe two minutes before she came up to me. There was no “good morning” no “how are you” just nastiness from the get go, then turned her back on me and walked off. Maybe she had a rough night or morning, who knows, or maybe she’s just a nasty person. To the owners that own this particular KOA ……please get her In check as she might adversely affect your business. This is making me

Nicely spaced sites and not far from town. Although we didn’t use on sight showers they looked like they could do with an update. The dog park is enormous the only real complaint was the dog shit everywhere, not only in the dog park but across the whole park. 2 stars deducted for that reason.

The campground is fairly new, clean and close to attractions, but the WiFi did not work the entire time we were there (3 days). I spoke to the desk clerk on our first morning about it and she just said “sorry”. It was the main reason we chose that particular campground, so it was really frustrating. Another thing I didn’t like, is that the shower rooms were totally unsecured and open to anyone 24 hours a day. No lock or code…they left the doors propped open at all times. And the shower stalls were just like bathroom stall doors. I did not use them. Lastly, we wanted to get a bag of ice and they didn’t have any. I realize we were there at the end of the season, but the store didn’t have anything.
