Discovery Inn Monterey

We stayed at this hotel for our Anniversary and spent four nights there. The room was very cozy and cute, the bed was comfortable with super soft pillows. Everything was amazing and the location and parking was great! The people running the hotel were very nice and super friendly. We come to Monterey 2 to 3 times per year and we are going to be sure to stay at this hotel every time from now on.

Positive: Pillows were nice. The fridge and microwave were very convenient. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was very nice. The sink had a lot of space to spread out as well. The hotel was very central and close to a lot of places. Staff was nice enough. Negative: Towels were a little stained. Walls were thin and we could hear the people next door. Bathtub had no plug and the floors were dirty and left the bottoms of our feet and socks black. Sheets weren?t changed when requested. Parking could be rough at times.

We stayed in a Huge room with a King size, very comfortable bed. Squeaky clean too! Rooms are all on one level, free parking, very quiet in the evenings, walking distance to the Ocean, and lots of restaurants nearby. Family owned business. ||There is also an excellent specialized Coffee, sandwich, small bites, restaurant right across the street, with big tables, board games, puzzles, cards, etc. available for the customers. They even have live music available occassionally on weekends. The place is called, "The Creperie Cafe," also with very friendly, helpful staff!

Excellent service and genuinely friendly staff made our stay memorable. Room was spotless and well-maintained. Perfect location with restaurants and shops within walking distance. The real advantage is being just 30 minutes from Big Sur - you get convenient amenities without the premium prices of staying right on the coast. Great value and we’d definitely return.

It’s cheap and for the price it delivers above and beyond. It’s not big but it’s clean. The rooms look nice and have everything you’d need and for the price it’s well worth it.
